What to do if a condom breaks?

Nature, with her inherent sarcasm, put a person before a choice: either to love and for this regularly receive replenishment in the family, or even forget about sex. The man wanted a third: to love, but without consequences, and chose a condom.

The word “condom” comes from the Latin praeservo – I protect. So, all of them are called to be defenders: to protect against unwanted pregnancy and infection with venereal ailments.

However, they do this not the same way. Unfortunately, a certain number of false condoms and just cheap low-quality fakes are still living on the market. They are either created on a natural basis (that is, the material for the condom is, for example, the lamb gut), or made with non-compliance with the technology.

Do not buy these insidious products, take pity on the lambs and yourself – because everything that you are trying to protect yourself from can penetrate through the pores of the gut, and a condom made using simplified technology or deviating from it cannot protect you from anything!

So what is a good and reliable defense?

The most important thing is to choose a condom so that it, without interfering with the enjoyment of pleasure, performs qualitatively and reliably the functions of protecting against unwanted pregnancy and from sexually transmitted diseases.

The fact is that it all depends on the physical and mechanical characteristics that are determined by international, European or Russian standards. A condom has a lot of them. Like any product, condoms have parameters – dimensions (this is length and width) and characteristics that determine quality. But quality can sometimes fail …

In case of damage or rupture of the condom, regardless of whether the ejaculation occurred or not, the woman urgently needs to be douched. For this, solutions that are easy to prepare at home are suitable:

  • boric acid solution: 1 teaspoon per 1 liter of water;
  • a solution of citric acid (or lemon juice): 1 teaspoon per 1 liter of water;
  • 0.5% salicylic acid solution: 1 teaspoon per 1 liter of water.

Douching is most convenient with microclysters, washing the seminal fluid from the vagina for 3–5 minutes in a circular motion. After some time, it is advisable to repeat the procedure.

When resorting to douching, it should be remembered that:

  • the concentration of acids used for solutions should not exceed 0.5-1%;
  • if a burning sensation is felt at the beginning of douching, the procedure should be immediately stopped and the solution diluted with water.

Before starting the procedure, you can taste the solution. It should be slightly acidic, since a more concentrated solution can lead to burns of the mucous membrane. It is much more effective to inject various spermicidal drugs sold in pharmacies into the vagina.

If the partners are sure that the condom burst after the ejaculation occurred, then in this case it is better to additionally use the methods and means of the so-called “emergency” contraception.
